Role OverviewThe Associate Director, Global Sourcing will focus on developing strategic partnerships across Medical Affairs and Marketing
, managing external spend, and driving global sourcing strategies. The role involves supplier management, contract negotiation, compliance, and continuous improvement
, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
The role combines strategic procurement leadership with hands-on relationship management to ensure value generation across multiple categories and geographies.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management- Identify, develop, and manage strategic business relationships with Marketing and Medical Affairs stakeholders.
- Develop partnerships with Legal, Finance, and IT to ensure cross-functional collaboration.
- Own and execute global sourcing category strategies
. - Manage the strategic sourcing process
: supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, compliance, and performance management. - Implement Post Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management frameworks for continuous improvement.
- Drive a Total Cost of Ownership culture and monitor supplier performance to foster innovation and efficiency.
- Support compliance with internal controls, finance policies, and SOPs.
- Ensure adherence to FCPA, local laws/regulations, grants, and spend transparency requirements.
- Identify potential compliance risks and elevate as appropriate.
- Leverage strong project, program, and change management skills to drive internal and external initiatives.
- Anticipate market and business changes to formulate mid- and long-term procurement plans.
- Support diversity initiatives and engagement with diverse suppliers.
- Partner closely with business area owners to deliver value and lead cross-functional teams.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Act as a role model for professional integrity, ethics, and accountability.
Skills & Qualifications Experience
- 7+ years of progressive global procurement experience (Marketing, Medical Affairs, or R&D categories).
- Pharmaceutical industry procurement experience (medical affairs, marketing, patient services, meetings/events, market access, operations, R&D).
- Experience working with Clinical Research Organizations (CROs) and external providers.
- Familiarity with R&D clinical trials, real-world evidence studies
, epidemiology, and payer access issues.
- Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills across functions, regions, and cultures.
- Team-oriented with a customer-service mindset
. - Ability to influence and lead procurement specialists.
- High professional integrity, courage, and adherence to principles.
- BA/BS in Operations, Finance, Business, or comparable discipline (required).
- Motivated, energetic, and curious.
- Willingness to learn and understand the nuances of the global business platform.
