Overview
TAG Associates, Inc. (TAG) is a small consulting firm that provides services to public and subsidized housing providers throughout the country. We have over 30 years of experience developing innovative strategies and programs to assist in the creation and maintenance of high quality affordable housing. TAG is based in Massachusetts, with satellite offices in Texas and in Tallahassee, Florida. TAG primarily supports PHAs in planning and managing real estate development projects and often represents PHAs in negotiations with private third-party developers, lenders and investors.
We advise on HUD-related approvals, pre-development activities such as consultant and contractor procurement, coordinating project funding sources and financial models, and leading agency-wide operational and strategic initiatives.
- Research state and federal housing program and funding regulations and apply findings to ongoing and impending real estate projects.
- Assist in applying for state and federal funding for housing development projects on behalf of clients.
- Take part in all aspects of the development process for new construction and rehabilitated affordable housing projects, from planning to financial closing and through construction completion and re-occupancy.
- Perform financial analysis and document review of pending and potential real estate projects.
- Organize and manipulate datasets for clients with large portfolios.
- Work from time to time on program and management system assessments under the supervision and in support of senior TAG members.
- Assist with creating and maintaining project management material for development projects such as document checklists and development schedules.
- Assist with drafting proposals to engage new clients.
- Draft memos summarizing recommendations based on analysis.
- Interact frequently with PHA clients and other consultants by phone or video conference.
- Demonstrated interest in affordable housing and real estate development
- Understanding of basic financial concepts
- Undergraduate or Graduate Degrees in:
Planning, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Business Administration - Familiarity with housing policy and programs
