Within EY-Parthenon’s Strategy and Execution sub‑service line, our Software Strategy Group provides top‑tier investment and acquisition guidance, strategy, and transaction advisory for the software sector. Every year we help hundreds of software companies and investors make crucial business decisions. On every engagement, you will work alongside our team of former CTOs and CEOs with deep software expertise to learn from the best.

As an Experienced Associate, you will engage in conversations with private equity investors and tech leaders, conduct thorough market and competitive research, assess company strengths to advise on growth and technology strategies, and clearly present your conclusions to both the team and clients.

• Strong Problem Solving and Storytelling – proactively identify problems, develop hypotheses, synthesize, and recommend with a compelling narrative.
• Outcome‑driven – develop an initial perspective that translates client needs into approach for project delivery.
• Project Management – transform strategy into a detailed work‑plan, manage timeline, and elevate risks to manager and stakeholders as needed.
• Collaboration – contribute to project teams comprising colleagues from across EY-Parthenon sub‑service lines.
• Business and Commercially Driven – thrive in a fast‑paced, exciting environment with strong business acumen to deliver client value.
• Business Development – support practice development initiatives to strengthen our team.
• Learning – develop technical and personal skills through structured learning, coaching, and varied experiences.

• Outstanding academic performance, with a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, engineering, computer science, or analytics and at least one year of related work experience; or a graduate degree and relevant work experience.
• Experience in client‑facing or technical roles in similar industries (e.g., consulting, banking, tech).
• Demonstrated interest in tech through startup experience, internships, coursework, extracurricular activities, or research and writing.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative research and analysis aptitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Effective organization and time‑management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel and work beyond standard hours when necessary.

• Ability to assess complex business problems and formulate potential solutions.
• Confidence to establish meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Knowledge of how to leverage firm‑approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.
