Boston Conservatory at Berklee invites applications for Costume Shop openings as: draper/stitchers, wardrobe assistants, and hair/wigs/makeup assistants. Part of the Performance Services department, Costume Shop Overhires are casual, hourly employees reporting to and supervised by the Costume Shop Manager and staff.

Minimum

Job Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in a professional theatrical/performance environment, in general/various operations or a specific area
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:
  • Ability to work independently, follow directions, work with urgency, and remain diplomatic and calm in fast-paced situations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, File Maker, or similar record-keeping and communication tools
  • Interest in and knowledge of costume construction techniques and wardrobe maintenance
Work Environment:
  • Indoor environments, including stages, backstage areas, dressing rooms, costume shop, props storage, office spaces, closets, and catwalks
  • Seated and standing positions
  • Potential collaboration with student workers
Special Working Conditions and

Physical Requirements:
  • Some nights and weekends required
  • Local travel may be required (valid driver’s license necessary)
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
Administrative

Conditions:
  • Final compensation based on experience, potential, and specialization, determined by Berklee HR
  • Accepted candidates will join Berklee’s payroll and submit hours via Workday
