This position requires successful completion of Postal Service Test 943 and Test 944, a valid state driver’s license, a clean driving record with at least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger in the U.S. or its territories, and the ability to communicate in English. Applicants must also pass medical suitability exams, meet general eligibility, and clear a background check.

Applicants who have not yet obtained exam scores are invited to take the exam.

• Electrical/ignition systems: alternators, batteries, voltage regulators, starter motors, ignition and lighting systems, indicating devices, computer‑enhanced components, sensors, and starting aids
• Automotive fuel systems: fuel pumps, turbochargers, superchargers, intercoolers, fuel injectors, and integration with electronic controls
• Automotive emission control systems: emission system components and their relation to engine performance and environmental regulations
• Engine systems: valves, piston assemblies, bearings, cylinders, heads, blocks, crankshaft assemblies, compression ignition, and cooling systems
• Automotive powertrain systems: clutches, universal joints, manual and computer‑enhanced automatic transmissions, differentials, and drive axles
