The Practice Assistant – Administrative provides essential clerical and administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations within the practice. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage billing, documentation, and communication tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to practice staff and management.
  • Assist with billing requirements for commercial payers and Medicaid.
  • Review and process explanation of benefits (EOB) and remittance advice.
  • Apply knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software tools to prepare reports and manage data.
  • Support daily office operations, scheduling, and communication with patients and staff.
  • Assist with special projects and other administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
  • Understanding of billing requirements for commercial payers and Medicaid.
  • Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures.
  • Familiarity with explanation of benefits (EOB) and remittance advice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
  • Prior experience in a healthcare or medical billing environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Certifications (if any)
  • None required; billing or coding certifications are a plus.
