The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. Boston University is looking for a customer-service oriented individual to join our Housing, Residence Operations team. You will get to interact with students, faculty and staff of the University within the mailroom, and be an integral part of this bustling residential community! This is a great opportunity to obtain a part time position within the University and take advantage of our part time benefits package, which includes generous health, dental, retirement, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the mailrooms are open and move staff around during vacation or sick days of staff. Ensure that technology in all mailrooms is in working order and that packages are processed daily and on time.
  • Oversee approximately 125 student staff in the six mailrooms during their shifts. Assist mailroom staff in processing and distribution of packages and letter mail.
  • Oversee the transportation needs, delivery, and maintenance of the electronic equipment in the mailrooms and ensure that they are working appropriately.
  • Train staff members in mailroom policies, procedures, and standard departmental expectations.
  • Assist Vending Services with site visits and reporting for all locations on campus.
Required Skills

Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience in mail services or working with the public. Excellent communication, writing, and customer service skills. This is a part time position with a flexible work schedule consisting of varied shifts, including evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver's license. Additional related experience can be substituted for a degree.
