Pay Range
Base pay range: $19.06/hr - $27.64/hr

The Development Assistant, Special Events will serve a vital supportive role in helping achieve the fundraising goals set by the Boston Children's Hospital Trust. As part of the Events team, the Development Assistant will interact with event participants, patient families, donors, and vendors to help in their fundraising activities for Boston Children's Hospital.
Work ScheduleThis position offers a hybrid work schedule with an on-site requirement of Tuesday and Thursday each week. Some evening and weekend event work is also required.
Key Responsibilities- Provide general office support including responding to inquiries and managing the department inbox, answering phones, managing and preparing mailings, ordering supplies, booking meetings, and booking and acknowledging donations.
- Assist in supporting participants who will fundraise for Boston Children’s Hospital through our annual peer‑to‑peer fundraising events.
- Assist with tracking sponsor ships for Boston Children’s Hospital events, including booking forms, invoices, guest lists, post‑event acknowledgements and reporting.
- Prepare invoices for the department including payment requisitions for vendors, employee reimbursements and serve as contact to resolve discrepancies. Manage program budgets and reconcile monthly.
- Prepare meeting agendas, meeting notes, reports, and other documents.
- Assist in coordinating logistics for events and meetings including tracking RSVPs and attendance, securing room space/Zoom line and outside vendors, ordering and packing supplies, creating nametags, and working at the events.
- Maintain constituent information in donor database and event tracking database.
- Assist supervisor and team with research, outreach, and special projects as needed.
An associate’s degree and 4 years of fundraising related work experience or a bachelor’s degree would replace the experience requirement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to connect with donors, vendors and other stakeholders to help resolve their issues.
