Position Title: Circulation and Computer Lab Manager/Staff Associate
Department: Library
Supervisor's Title: Access Services Librarian
Collective Bargaining Agreement: This position is governed by the APA collective bargaining agreement.
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000, commensurate with experience.
Job SummaryThe Circulation and Computer Lab Manager performs all circulation desk functions in the library and supports and maintains the computer lab located within the library.

EssentialJob Duties
- Performs all circulation functions (charging/discharging materials, receipt of fines, processing overdue notices, patron record updates) and provides other front-line desk service.
- Provides reference assistance and assists patrons in locating resources.
- Opens the library as scheduled, ensuring compliance with facilities procedures and timely service to patrons.
- Assists Public Services Team with training part-time student employees in Public Services areas. Assists Access Services Librarian with patron database support.
- Provides computer lab technical assistance to patrons and instruction in use of hardware (e.g., scanners and printers) and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office).
- Trains other staff in assisting patrons with use of the computer lab.
- Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots computer lab equipment and software; acts as liaison to the college department in charge of Technology.
- Creates and makes available documentation and training materials for using equipment and software in the computer lab.
- Collects statistical data for public services operations.
- Collaborates on policy/procedure drafting and refinement.
- Identifies and maintains general computer lab equipment and software as well as specialized equipment and software for patrons with disabilities.
- Trains patrons in use. Supports Access Services Librarian in creating and maintaining alternative texts.
- Acts as a liaison to the Academic Resource Center to coordinate college best practices for helping students.
- Participates in library planning and decision making as part of the public services team.
- Works on special projects as established during library strategic planning and performs other duties as assigned.
- Assists with digital asset management projects in other divisions of the library (e.g., visual resources, archives).
- Serves as primary backup for other public services support functions and secondary backup for other library operations; provides primary backup support for systems.
- Promotes the college's commitment to customer service by building partnerships, sharing information, and providing assistance as needed.
- Ensures optimum service to internal and external partners in response to all requests for service and information.
- Maintains an environment welcoming to persons of all backgrounds, nationalities, learning needs, and roles.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience. Minimum of one year of experience working in a library (preferably in an academic setting). Supervisory experience.
Required Skills:
Familiarity with library resources (e.g., EBSCO Discovery) and online library systems (e.g., FOLIO).
