Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. This entry-level role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in property accounting, cash management, and tenant relations within the real estate industry. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational and analytical skills while consistently meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities:

- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.

- Oversee tenant payment processing, ledger reconciliation, and assist with billing and collection efforts.

- Process vendor invoices accurately, ensuring expenses are allocated to the correct properties and accounts.

- Prepare and post recurring journal entries, including those for payroll and management fees.

- Collaborate with property management and leasing teams to maintain accurate tenant records.

- Support special projects and initiatives, contributing to the improvement of accounting processes.

- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure smooth financial operations.

- Utilize Quick Books for efficient data entry and financial tracking.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures during financial transactions.

- Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure clarity and accuracy in accounting tasks. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Strong proficiency in Quick Books and other accounting software.

- Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

- Ability to perform accurate account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

- Skilled in invoice processing and data entry with attention to detail.

- Knowledge of journal entries and general accounting principles.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet recurring deadlines.

- Effective communication abilities for collaboration with diverse teams.
