We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing real estate portfolio. This role offers hands‑on exposure to property-level accounting, cash management, and collaboration with operations teams. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable managing recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Record and monitor weekly banking activity
- Process and apply tenant payments (checks and electronic payments)
- Maintain accurate tenant ledgers and assist with collections follow-up
- Support commercial and utility billing processes
- Prepare recurring accounts receivable and aging reports
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices
- Allocate expenses to the appropriate property and general ledger accounts
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoice and payment inquiries
- Process recurring and bulk transaction imports
- Prepare and post recurring journal entries, including payroll allocations, management fees, and income allocations
- Process intercompany and inter-property reclassifications as needed
- Maintain supporting schedules and internal tracking spreadsheets
- Partner with property management and leasing teams to maintain accurate tenant accounts
- Participate in team meetings and support special projects as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after three (3) months of training.
