Tax Manager

Job Description

Responsibilities:
Managing staff on assigned deliverables to achieve the completion of all aspects of the engagement, completing reviews of tax filings as a member of the final review team to ensure quality control standards are met; identifying client issues and conflicts, proactively communicating solution options to management and the team, performing analysis and planning of tax engagements; assisting with client communication during engagements;

preparing financial statements and tax filings, disclosures, and reportable condition letters for clients. Supervising, training and mentoring less experienced accounting staff. Participating in new client development in partnership with senior management, contributing to client meetings as well as presentation and proposal development.

Travel to local client offices in the Boston, Massachusetts area at least once per quarter.

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, CPA license or equivalent certification, plus 5 years of experience working as an accountant or in a related occupation. Prior experience must include 3 years managing other accountants; 5 years of experience working with GAAP; 5 years of experience preparing financial statements and tax filings; 5 years of experience performing public accounting.
