Corporate Staff Accountant

Position Description

The corporate staff accountant position is a great opportunity for accountants who are interested in real estate accounting, corporate accounting, and consolidating financials. The Corporate accounting department are financial stewards of the organization maintaining accurate financial records for The Community Builders, Inc. as well as other supporting legal entities.

• Review and reconcile corporate bank accounts
• Prepare monthly work papers for the corporate entity and quarterly work papers for corporate and consolidating entities
• Prepare financials for corporate subsidiary entities
• Assist in implementation of Yardi software modules
• Assist Assistant Corporate controller with writing new processes and procedures for the corporate accounting department
• Import & review 3 rd party managed properties data in accounting software
• Assist with special projects as required from the Assistant Corporate Controller or VP of Corporate Finance and Accounting

• Excellence in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to convey issues and problems clearly both in writing and orally
• Passion to work for a mission driven organization.

• BS degree in accounting or equivalent required, Advanced degree a plus
• 1-3 years of General Accounting experience required and non‑profit a plus
• Experience with YARDI Accounting Package a plus
