Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to contribute to essential accounting operations and support financial accuracy across the organization. The role requires strong technical expertise in corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger activities.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with regulations.

- Manage sales tax filings and reporting to maintain accuracy.

- Record and reconcile journal entries to support financial statement preparation.

- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring data integrity.

- Utilize SAP software to streamline accounting processes and reporting.

- Collaborate with internal teams to address financial inquiries and provide solutions.

- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and propose corrective actions.

- Ensure timely completion of monthly and quarterly financial close processes.

Requirements

- Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance.

- Solid understanding of sales tax regulations and reporting.

- Proficiency in recording and reconciling journal entries.

- Expertise in maintaining general ledger accounts.

- Familiarity with SAP or similar accounting software.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in financial contexts.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
