Accounts Payable Clerk

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Boston, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in managing invoice processes and ensuring timely payments. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization's overall accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

- Process invoices accurately and ensure they are properly coded for payment.

- Conduct regular check runs to ensure timely and efficient payments.

- Review and verify invoice details to maintain compliance with company policies.

- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies in payments or invoices.

- Utilize SAP to manage accounts payable activities and maintain organized records.

- Prepare and submit payment reports for management review.

- Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to accounts payable.

- Assist in setting up new vendor accounts and updating existing records.

- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive financial information.

Requirements

- Proven experience in accounts payable or a related financial role.

- Proficiency in coding invoices and managing check runs.

- Familiarity with invoice processing systems and procedures.

- Hands-on experience with SAP or similar accounting software.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high volumes of data.

- Effective communication skills for resolving vendor and internal inquiries.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
