Payroll Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our client's growing team. This position is onsite in Boston, MA.

• Administer end-to-end, multi-state weekly payroll processing, including time entry review, audits, reconciliations, check printing, and distribution
• Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance by managing tax deposits, tax reconciliations, and responding to payroll-related inquiries
• Handle employment verifications, wage garnishments, tax levies, and other regulatory or compliance-related requests
• Prepare and deliver recurring payroll, labor, and personnel change reports, along with ad hoc reporting for leadership as needed
• Partner with internal teams to coordinate payroll reporting, resolve discrepancies, and support ongoing operational needs

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
• Three to five years of hands-on payroll and accounting experience
• Familiarity with construction or industry-specific payroll systems (e.g., Timberline) is a plus
• Strong ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels
• Proven team-oriented mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
