Commercial Property Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to join a growing team managing a diverse portfolio of retail and office properties. In this pivotal role, you will be the first in-house accounting professional, responsible for overseeing financial processes across approximately 20 properties. - Base Salary: $90,000–$100,000 (depending on experience)
- Bonus:
Target 5% annual discretionary bonus, based on individual and company performance - Benefits:

Hours:
8:30am–5:00pm (flexible start/end times) - Work Arrangement:
Hybrid 4 days in-office, 1 day remote
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reconciliations (CAM, bank, A/R, balance sheet)
- Manage tenant accounting, including rents, ledgers, delinquencies, and billbacks (CAM, utilities, percentage rent)
- Review general ledger activity, P&L statements, and post journal entries
- Partner with property management on budgets, reporting, and lease interpretation (CAM, percentage rent, expense pass-throughs)
- Recommend and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 to 5 years of experience with general ledger and financial statement preparation in a commercial real estate environment
- Proficiency with Yardi or similar property management/accounting software
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with tenants and internal teams
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related Office tools
- Knowledge of commercial retail lease language, including percentage rent and CAM provisions
- Capacity to manage multiple properties within a portfolio
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and industry updates as needed
