Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to support the daily operations and ongoing processes of a high-volume AP function. This role is a 6-month temp-to-hire opportunity with strong potential for conversion and is ideal for a proactive, service-oriented accounting professional who brings deep AP expertise and a passion for process improvement. The position operates in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex accounting policies while delivering excellent internal and external customer support.
This is a hybrid role with increased on-site presence during onboarding and training.
Contract:
$33–$43 per hour

Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, payments, reconciliations, and account analysis
- Perform advanced month-end close activities, including journal vouchers and segregation of duties reviews
- Review and approve invoices, wire payments, and related transactions in compliance with institutional and regulatory policies
- Resolve payment issues, including rejected direct deposits, and respond to internal and supplier inquiries
- Serve as an AP subject matter expert, supporting audits, projects, training, and process improvements
- Analyze AP data, contribute to root‑cause analysis, and recommend operational enhancements
- Maintain accurate documentation and support workflow controls and special projects as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounts payable, accounting, or financial operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SAP preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and applicable AP regulations
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication, customer service, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and contribute effectively within a team
- Experience with Coupa is a plus
