Position Title: Catholic Religious Education Coordinator

Location: Barksdale Air Force Base, LA

• Plan, coordinate, and administer Catholic religious education programs for children, youth, and adults.
• Develop and implement an annual religious education plan, including registration, teacher recruitment, and volunteer training.
• Recruit, train, and support catechists and volunteers, including coordination of substitute coverage as needed.
• Prepare religious education publicity for chapel bulletins, digital outreach, and announcements.
• Maintain accurate records for students, volunteers, attendance, and program participation.
• Coordinate youth, young adult, and Vacation Bible School (VBS) programs in collaboration with other chapel staff.
• Assist with sacramental preparation activities including First Communion, Confirmation, First Reconciliation, and RCIA.
• Maintain regular office hours and provide support to parish members, teachers, and volunteers.
• Ensure compliance with background check, safety, and child protection requirements.
• Submit required reports, documentation, and monthly participation data to designated chapel leadership.

• Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience in a Catholic educational or religious setting.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a military, ecumenical, and multi-faith environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and digital communication platforms.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to successfully complete background checks and installation access requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious education, catechesis, or a related field.
• Experience supporting religious education programs in a military setting.
• Experience coordinating volunteers, teachers, and faith formation programs.
