Nurse Unit Manager - Operating Rooms

Maryvale Private Hospital is seeking a dynamic Nursing Leader to guide our high-performing theatre team.

Operating Rooms. As the Nurse Unit Manager you will lead the team in optimising clinical care and the operational performance of the Theatre. You will foster a professional and respectful culture where interdisciplinary team members collaborate effectively to positively impact patient outcomes and professional growth. • Registration AHPRA as Nurse Division 1 with a minimum 5 years experience
• Demonstrated clinical and leadership experience in peri‑operative setting
• Experience with successfully managing multiple stakeholders at all levels and forging partnerships across service sectors
• Demonstrated experience in managing clinical projects and leading quality improvement initiatives
• Demonstrated effective management and leadership skills
• Contemporary knowledge of best practice in peri‑operative nursing
• Be highly accountable and demonstrate a strong, supportive and engaging style
• Be passionate about patient care and achieving high quality clinical outcomes
• Knowledge and experience with quality improvement processes and NSQHS National Standards accreditation requirements
• Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills including effective negotiation and conflict resolution
• Demonstrated ability to build effective teams and work well with interdisciplinary staff
• Excellent negotiation and problem‑solving skills that foster a positive workplace culture
• Ability to develop positive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external customers
• Be innovative and adaptable to change processes
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office suite
• Recognised tertiary management qualifications or working towards same, and evidence of recent professional development to further enhance leadership and management competencies
• Current acute peri‑operative nursing experience within the Private Health sector

Remuneration is paid in line with Maryvale Private Hospital Nurses Enterprise Agreement (2025).
