Sales EngineerThe Sales Engineer acts as a technical liaison for channel partners, direct sales, account management, and wholesale clients, providing pre- and post-sales support to ensure customers understand Maxx South’s products and services. This role partners with the Engineering Department to design and implement advanced solutions such as voice, MPLS, Security-as-a-Service, and SD-WAN, while collaborating with key internal teams including Sales, Customer Service, Technical Operations, and Account Management.
What You’ll Do:- Support sales teams and partners with technical proposals and solution design.
- Analyze client needs and create profitable, tailored solutions.
- Serve as a liaison for technical troubleshooting and custom requests.
- Deliver product presentations, field support, and bi-annual sales training.
- Contribute to RFP responses and product development initiatives.
- Prepare and lead training on new products and features.
- Attend industry events for competitive insights and trend analysis.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
- Required:
- Associate’s degree in engineering, telecommunications, computer science, or equivalent work experiece.
- Minimum 1 year of IP Network and/or Technical Support experience.
- Knowledge of IPv4/IPv6 networks, DNS, Hosted PBX (VoIP), DOCSIS 3.0/3.1, DIA, and Point-to-Point connections.
- Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, telecommunications, computer science, or related field.
- Associate-level certification from Cisco, Juniper, etc (must remain current)
- 4+ years of IP Network and/or Technical Support experience.
- Familiarity with routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS-TE, RSVP, SD-WAN, STP), QoS implementations, and IP network security (Firewalls, CG-NAT)
- Experience with Juniper, Cisco, and Ubiquiti routers, switches, and firewalls.

Starting pay $45,000 - $48,000.
