Job Description

Samartains Purse is seeking an HVAC Technician at our International Headquarters location in Boone, N.C. As an HVAC Technician you will be responsible for setup, programming, operation and maintenance of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at all Samaritan's Purse facilities. You will also provide work direction to other HVAC Technicians, supervise outside HVAC vendors as necessary, and advance the Gospel through your daily service.

• Maintain personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
• Maintain daily operation of all HVAC systems
• Troubleshoot system failures and make necessary repairs, with emphasis on preventive maintenance
• Perform and oversee quarterly inspections of equipment and programming systems, logging scheduled inspection reports as required; report deficiencies or concerns to Director of Facilities; provide field training for Maintenance staff as assigned
• Make recommendations on equipment purchases and energy‑savings strategies; assist Facilities Manager with inventory start‑up and monitoring of necessary inventory to facilitate prompt repairs and maintenance of HVAC equipment
• Maintain a safe work environment; perform all work safely and follow all associated safety guidelines
• All other duties as assigned

• HVAC technician certification and at least five (5) years of commercial experience installing, operating, and maintaining HVAC equipment and systems; experience with rooftop units 50 tons and less, VAV, VRV, ERU systems, server room cooling equipment, gas pack units, split systems, mini splits, BAS monitoring, refrigeration (coolers/freezers, ice makers, hot side equipment)
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC/mechanical maintenance; ability to solve unusual and common work problems, advise on technical matters, serve as a resource on the subject for others
• Ability to lift 80 lbs
• Ability to climb wall‑mounted ladders
• EPA universal certification required
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to serve as liaison for outside contractors
• Ability to order parts for needed repairs
• Ability to work overtime when needed
