Serving over 57,000 individuals annually, HHC leads innovative community‑based initiatives that integrate food assistance, nutrition counseling, medication access, and a free clinic to create lasting change for those in need.
Position OverviewThe Director of Development at the Hunger and Health Coalition plans and executes fundraising strategies to secure financial support for the organization. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with donors and foundations, developing fundraising campaigns and events, managing fundraising budgets, cultivating relationships with the board and leadership team, overseeing staff, and serving as a public spokesperson to enhance the organization's image.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive, sustainable fundraising plans to meet short- and long-term organizational goals.
- Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporations to secure financial support.
- Oversee annual campaigns, capital campaigns, grant applications, and other fundraising initiatives to ensure financial health and growth.
- Organize and manage fundraising events, such as benefit concerts, galas, and parties, to generate funding and increase donor engagement.
- Manage the development budget, track progress against goals, and provide regular reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and manage fundraising staff, providing guidance and empowering them to achieve development goals.
- Work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and leadership team to align fundraising efforts with the organization's strategic plan and mission.
- Serve as a spokesperson, collaborate on marketing efforts, and enhance public relations to raise the organization's profile and attract new supporters.
- Fundraising Expertise: 3+ years proven experience in individual, foundation, corporate, and grant fundraising.
- Relationship Building:
Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. - Strategic Thinking:
The ability to develop and execute innovative, data-driven strategies for sustained revenue growth. - Leadership & Management:
Experience leading teams and empowering staff to achieve ambitious goals. - Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate the organization's mission and secure funding. - Mission Commitment: A deep personal commitment to the organization's mission and values.
- Salary Range: $50,000-$70,000 (commensurate with experience)
