- Earned Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) by appointment
- Commitment to excellence in teaching compatible with the BCHS mission
- License as a registered nurse in good standing in North Carolina or a compact state; meeting NC Board of Nursing requirements for Nurse Educators
- Full‑time clinical faculty for the undergraduate BSN program
- One‑year or more of full‑time teaching in an accredited nursing program
- Clinical and/or didactic instruction with expertise in adult health, mental health, or care of women & children
The Department of Nursing has about 560 students across pre‑licensure BSN, online RN‑to‑BSN, and online MSN programs. All programs are accredited by the CCNE. The department is developing a new DNP Nurse Practitioner program, beginning fall 2026.
Appalachian State University’s Beaver College of Health Sciences (BCHS) supports over 3,800 students through nine undergraduate and nine graduate programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Teach in classroom, clinical settings, simulation, or online across nursing degree programs
- Supervise capstone projects
- Engage in scholarly, creative activities that promote professional growth and enhance teaching competence
- Integrate evidence‑based practices in teaching and clinical settings
- Serve on committees and participate in department, college, and university activities
