Campus HVAC-Refrigeration Technician (Full-Time) (Maintenance) JOB FUNCTION

As a Campus Refrigeration Technician you will monitor, maintain, and repair different types of heating and cooling systems throughout the Fareway Meat & Grocery Boone Campus. Your attention to detail and background in refrigeration technology will help us maintain efficient operation.

• Start up, test and observe systems to ensure proper function for its operating life
• Service & maintain existing systems
• Follow refrigeration best practices, keeping up on industry standards
• Troubleshoot and repair heating and cooling systems of all types and sizes
• Use Computerized Maintenance Management System
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to understand technical instructions, written and verbal
• Ability to use various tools effectively and safely
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Electrical and mechanical skills are necessary
• Ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities
  
  Basic math skills are required

• Previous experience in industrial or storage type refrigeration settings
• Refrigeration schooling or certifications
• Experience in performing advanced HVAC diagnosis, maintenance, and repair
• Basic plumbing knowledge
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems
• CARO, CIRO, Operator I, Operator II, Operator III / Technician I, CRST certifications are a plus

Must be able to climb stairs, climb ladders, bend, kneel, twist, reach, and pull frequently. Must be able to lift items more than 50 lbs. occasionally, 25 lbs. frequently, and 10-20 lbs. continuously.

Exposure to varying temperatures depending on building:

• Some jobs occur in room temperature rooms, 60F - 85F
• Some jobs occur in refrigerated rooms, 28F - 45F
• Some jobs occur in freezer rooms,
  -20F 0F
• Some jobs occur in varying ambient outdoor conditions

Campus warehouses have a noisy and busy environment; employees must always remain alert.

This position will be based out of Boone, Iowa.
