Job Description:

  • The Phlebotomist II Float serves as a key patient-facing representative, responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures.
  • This role requires direct patient interaction, ensuring a safe, accurate, and professional experience while maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating leadership behaviors.
  • The position may support multiple locations, including patient service centers and physician offices, based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional working environment.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct specimen labeling.
  • Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients.
  • Travel between multiple sites as assigned and report on time to each location covered.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call schedules, and overtime as required.
  • Commitment to company policies, procedures, dress code, and safety standards.
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise sound judgment.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver s license, and a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong customer focus with clear and professional communication skills.
Experience:
  • One to three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment strongly preferred.
  • Keyboarding and data entry experience.
Skills:
  • Phlebotomy and specimen handling.
  • Patient interaction and customer service.
  • Documentation and data accuracy.
  • Time management and adaptability.
Qualification And Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred and required in certain states.
