JOB PURPOSE

Join our engineering and production teams as a Technical Writer to create clear, accurate, and compliant documentation supporting e2

Companies Virtual Utility systems including Battery Energy Storage Systems, power generation equipment, and microgrid solutions. This role supports mission critical energy systems where accuracy and clarity in technical documentation directly impact safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

RESPONSIBILITES
  • Author and maintain technical manuals, installation guides, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, service procedures, and test documentation for BESS and power generation systems
  • Develop user friendly, step by step instructions and safety documentation for field technicians, operators, and customers
  • Create and standardize document templates, style guides, and documentation processes
  • Support safety documentation, labeling requirements, and compliance submittals for UL 9540, UL 1973, NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, NFPA 855, and other applicable standards
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and field service teams to gather information and verify accuracy
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and ensure documentation reflects as built systems and latest revisions
  • Maintain documentation libraries and manage version control within the company PLM system
  • Translate complex engineering concepts into clear content for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Create documentation that supports mission critical systems including BESS, power generation assets, and microgrid controls
  • Continuously improve documentation processes, readability, and compliance with industry best practices
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • 3 or more years of technical writing experience in manufacturing, energy, utilities, or power systems environments
  • Experience creating documentation for BESS, microgrids, or power generation equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one line diagrams, control narratives, and system specifications
  • Strong technical writing and editing skills with excellent command of English grammar
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with structured authoring tools is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail with proven document control skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, multidisciplinary environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
  • Working knowledge of UL 9540, UL 1973, NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NFPA 855
  • Experience with Adobe Frame Maker, Mad Cap Flare, Ixiasoft, Paligo, or similar documentation tools
  • Familiarity with PLM or document control systems such as Autodesk Vault, Arena, or Propel
  • Background in energy storage, renewable energy, or critical power systems
  • Basic graphics editing skills and ability to interpret technical drawings and BOMs

Pay Range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
