Pipefitter, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

The VA North Texas Health Care System is recruiting for a Pipefitter. The Pipefitter position is located within the Engineering Department and the primary functions include working with pipes and fittings from a range of high pressure to low pressure steam.

• Install, maintain, and repair all plumbing facilities and equipment such as showers, sinks, toilets, sterilizers, dishwashing machines, floor drains, faucets, drinking fountains, wall bubblers, sewer mains, drain lines, sprinkler systems, and laundry equipment such as washers, heat exchangers, water softeners, stills, hot and cold water drainage, and sewer distribution systems.
• Maintain and repair the medical air, oxygen, vacuum, and gas systems, including related components and subsystems.
• Install, maintain, and repair steam equipment throughout the hospital, including laundry and dietetic equipment such as steam mains from the boiler house, steam cookers, steam tables, pressure cookers, hot water heaters, radiators, steam traps, condensing and steam distribution systems; repair and replace defective gas and air lines; install and replace pipe covering.
• Maintain laundry equipment concerning steam connections and related components.

Monday‑Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm
