General Description

Under the direction of the State Parks Division Region 6 Deputy Regional Director, the Park Supervisor at Bonham State Park performs moderately complex park management work, preserving and maintaining the park’s natural and cultural resources, handling financial management, security, maintenance, customer service, public relations, interpretation, events, community outreach and volunteer coordination. The position responds to emergency and on‑call situations and reports to the Deputy Regional Director.

• Preserve and protect cultural and natural resources.
• Administer, operate and maintain park facilities and grounds.
• Financial management: budget planning, preparation and monitoring; revenue management.
• Human resources: manage staff and volunteers.
• Security and safety programs.
• Routine cleaning, maintenance, and repair of facilities, grounds, vehicles and equipment.
• Customer service, public relations, marketing, and promotion.
• Interpretation and education programs.
• Organization of special events, community outreach, and.video partnership coordination.
• Respond to emergencies and on‑call duties.
• Comply with all agency, division, and branch rules, regulations and procedures.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of experience in natural/cultural resource management, interpretation or education, general maintenance, public safety, promotions, public relations or marketing (experience may be concurrent).
• One year of supervisory experience.
• Valid class “C” Texas driver’s license within 30 days of employment.
• Valid Sawyer certification within one year of employment.

• Degree in Park Administration, Recreation and Parks, Wildlife/Fisheries Science, Natural and/or Cultural Resource Management, Forestry, Biology, Anthropology, Archaeology or History.
• Supervisor or team‑lead experience in park operations and management.
• Experience in budget development and management.
• Experience managing personnel and development.
• Experience with community outreach and partnership coordination.
• Experience managing natural, cultural and other park resources.
