Bolton Metro Swimming Squad in Bolton is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Head Coach to take our already successful squad even further. This is an exciting opportunity to join our high-performing squad, dedicated to developing all swimmers to reach their full potential.
Bolton Metro is an inclusive performance swimming squad for Bolton and the surrounding community. Our ethos is to strive for excellence and support the development of our swimmers. We aim to promote and encourage high-quality swimming performance across the Bolton region in a safe and healthy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, plan, and deliver high-quality coaching sessions for the Performance groups, with a focus on athlete progression.
- Oversee and develop the other coaches in the squad, ensuring a consistent coaching approach across the squad
- Develop and implement performance pathways, working closely with the Age Group Coach and squad committee.
- Motivate swimmers to achieve their personal best, fostering a positive team culture and strong work ethic.
- Develop strong relationships with the coaches of our feeder clubs to provide a collaborative, symbiotic environment across the borough that puts the swimmers first.
- Oversee the competition calendar and support athletes at galas, meets, and championships.
- Minimum ASA/UKCC Level 2 Coaching Award/Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in coaching swimmers to regional and national standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Passion for athlete development and squad growth.
- Experience working within a performance-focused club environment.
- Swim England land training qualification (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of long-term athlete development principles.
Hours: 17 poolside hours in a standard week: requirements vary due to events such as Nationals, meets and camps etc
