Overview

Grade: F scp
17 £ 31,022 to scp
23 £ 34,434 plus essential car user allowance.

Contract: 12mth Fixed Term 22hrs per week.
Role specifics: Must hold full UK driving licence and be 18yrs or over.

The Role

To assist and support the delivery of a high-quality Housing Options & Advice Service for homeless persons, those threatened with homelessness and others in housing need.

Provide for all aspects of homelessness and housing advice casework from contact / initial application, assessment, decision, provision / securing of prevention and relief assistance through the delivery of statutory homelessness prevention, relief and other assistance via related policies and practices.

To assist vulnerable customers to access and engage in services; offering advice and support on all options; advocating and negotiating on behalf of customers; and work closely with other agencies externally & internally to provide options, prevent and relieve homelessness and to provide for the needs of households.

Responsibilities
  • Assist and support the delivery of Housing Options & Advice Service for homeless people and those at risk.
  • Undertake homelessness and housing advice casework from initial contact through to prevention and relief.
  • Advise, support, advocate and negotiate on behalf of customers; collaborate with external and internal agencies to secure housing and prevent homelessness.
About You

We’re looking for a proactive team player with strong communication and networking skills to build positive relationships and empower customers to address their housing needs.

You’ll have a solid understanding of housing issues, homelessness legislation, and related services, alongside excellent casework and assessment skills.

The ability to manage your own caseload, prioritise effectively, and make sound decisions to achieve positive outcomes is essential.
