The role involves working with vulnerable young people who are at risk of exploitation, the EXIT team are co-located with GM Police. Knowledge of the dynamics involved in Child Sexual Abuse and an understanding of the ways in which children and young people are groomed and manipulated.

Worker will need knowledge of child protection safeguarding processes, legislation, youth offending, crime prevention and diversion.

You will manage a case load, complete specialist exploitation assessments and risk reduction and support plans. You will deliver direct work to young people and their families. You will have experience of delivering interventions to address concerns such as violence, offending, anti-social behaviour, substance misuse, peer pressure, ACE’s and impact of trauma. You will work within a multi-agency framework with GM Police as a main partner and offering support and consultation to additional partners who are supporting young people.

Candidates will be required to be office based 5 days per week initially and once their induction is complete, consideration can be given for a WFH day per week. Due to the nature of the service it’s a flexible working post which will include evening work and may include weekends too.

Based at Scholey Street Police station, Bolton

Requirements
  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
  • Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
  • Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups
  • Possess knowledge of service needs.
  • Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
  • Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
