Job DescriptionStep into a vital role as a Yard Operative/Handyperson at Wernick Hire, the UK’s largest provider of modular buildings and site accommodation. You will support the maintenance, repair, and preparation of our modular buildings, ensuring every task meets the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general maintenance on cabins and modular buildings (cleaning, painting, repairs).
- Service mobile welfare units to keep them in top condition.
- Carry out site visits to carry out necessary repairs promptly.
- Manage furniture return to yard, removing from cabins and placing back in storage.
- Maintain forklift truck in excellent working order.
- Minimise material wastage and support safe loading and unloading of cabins, buildings, and materials.
- Maintain a clean and organised yard and workshop at all times.
- Adhere to current health and safety legislation.
- Technical expertise in plumbing, joinery, or electrical work.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise a busy workload effectively.
- Customer service commitment.
- Team player, enthusiastic and collaborative.
- Self‑motivated, proactive self‑starter with strong drive.
- Detail‑oriented, thorough and methodical in all tasks.
