We are looking to recruit an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with independent prescribing, to join our busy but friendly team on a permanent part time basis, using the 4 pilars of Advanced Practice, to improve service efficiency and patient outcomes.

Main duties of the job

This is a clinically focused role involving:

  • Assessment, diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions
  • Face to Face clinical sessions
  • Telephone consultations
  • Home visits for nursing home and housebound patients
  • Working autonomously within NMC competencies and scope of practice.
  • Contributing to high quality patient centre care
  • Prescribing within national and local guidelines
  • Appropriate referral, escalation and safety netting
  • Proactive and preventative care following local and national targets, such as Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and Bolton Quality Contract (BQC) and Beyond Core Contract (BeCCoR) reviews
  • Timely clinical documentation, using SNOMED codes

The Dunstan Partnership is an innovative, dynamic, busy, well organised, friendly and team orientated GP Practice, caring for a patient population of just over 10,100 patients. Based within a large, modern, purpose built health centre, we offer a spacious and well-equipped working environment designed to support high quality clinical care.

We are an accredited GP Training practice with excellent QOF and results, strong BQC achievements, BeCCoR achievements and a "Good" CQC rating. Our ethos is simple: work collaboratively, plan the day well, support each other and deliver outstanding care to our patients.

We operate a total triage system led by the GP Partners, who triage all appt requests to help ensure all staff see patients appropriate for their experience and expertise as well as their personal learning and development needs. We work within BMA safe working limits and believe staff wellbeing is essential for a practice to thrive.

We pride ourselves on being a positive learning environment. Daily 30 minute clinical meetings ensure shared learning, case discussion and strong communication across the team.

You will be joining a well established, well organised and supportive clinical and administrative team, including:

  • 5 GP Partners
  • Resident Doctors in training
  • 2 Practice Nurses
  • A broad multi-disciplinary team of ARRS clinicians
  • Excellent managerial and admin support

Job Summary

The ANP is an autonomous practitioner with advanced clinical skills, able to assess, diagnose, treat and independently prescribe. The role supports timely patient care, reduces the need for GP referrals and allows development of long-term patient relationships. The ANP interprets investigations, prescribes safely, and refers to specialists when needed.
