Role Overview

Both the role and client site have ITAR nationality restrictions. Morson are recruiting for a time served ELECTRICAL FITTER on behalf a leading defence equipment manufacturers based in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

This is a contract role although highly likely to be long-term.

Rates: £28.35 per hour Umbrella or £21.12 per hour (holiday pay on top of hourly rate) rates rise after 12 weeks to £29.70 per hour Umbrella or £22.12 per hour PAYE Monday

Specific responsibilities
  • Friday 37 hours The role will be responsible for carrying out manufacturing and test tasks within the electrical department, in accordance with product certification procedures, defined workmanship standards, allocated budgets and timescales to meet project objectives. Suitable candidates MUST hold time served apprenticeship, any candidates without apprenticeship WILL NOT be considered. This role will now include an accommodation expense if the candidate is travelling from more than 30 miles away from BL5 postcode.

This will need to be receipted and will be up to £400 per week (only for accommodation) Specific responsibilities include:

Certify the product in line with Product Certification procedure

Demonstrated ability / willingness to certify own work in line with company quality standards

Maintain product certification and approval via regular audits

Possess a versatile skill base with the capability to apply these skills across a range of tasks

Be fully conversant with all equipment, tools and measuring instruments associated with the manufacturing cycle

Ensure manufacturing build, inspection and where relevant test times are met.

Check and complete all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack

Maintain to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality

Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process

Maintain a safe working environment

Maintain a good housekeeping policy

Willing to contribute to an environment of process improvement

Role requirements (skills, training and qualifications)

Essential:

Engineering/ craft apprenticeship ESSENTIAL

Possess experience in electrical wiring and assembly

Electrical fitting experience Desirable:

IPC 610 certified/ trained preferred

Previous experience in the aerospace or defence industry would be desirable

Manual handling training

Lifting and slinging (including overhead cranes) training

ESD training
