Mechanic​/HGV Technician

Position: Mechanic / HGV Technician
We have a growing fleet of artics and skip wagons, including our new HVO wagon! As a result, we are looking for a HGV Mechanic to expand our small, but skilled, workshop team, and undertake regular inspections, proactive maintenance and reactive repairs.
* * plan and carry out repairs/maintenance and servicing of our fleet vehicles and trailers

* co-ordinate maintenance activity and achieve timely, prioritised maintenance, repair and servicing, working in partnership with the transport management team

* carry out regular inspections of fleet vehicle tyres and wheels, arranging replacement or repair as required

* relevant qualification in HGV repair and maintenance, or compensating work experience

* skilled in the maintenance of a wide variety of vehicles, plant and machinery, including the safe use of appropriate tools and equipment

* good understanding of HGV service and maintenance requirements

* proficient in diagnosis and repairs to hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems

* a full, clean driving licence

* valid Category C licence would be advantageous, but not essential

* Competitive Hourly Rate DOE

* * 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday (alternating weekly 6am-4pm / 10am-8pm)

* * 1 in 2 Saturdays, 7am-12pm paid extra
