Key Responsibilities
  • Run fraud cases from the point of litigation through to resolution of the case.
  • Review and analyse evidence throughout the life of the case.
  • Set and agree case strategy with clients, ensuring adherence to any KYO or generic strategies put in place by Lead Lawyer and Technical Leads.
  • Adhere to all work type process stages.
  • Identify strategic litigation opportunities and complex cases when appropriate.
  • Identify client trends and any opportunities to raise profile with clients.
  • Handle files in accordance with agreed client guidelines on a non‑delegated basis.
  • Ensure maximum client satisfaction on each case.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all client and internal MI.
  • Achieve both client and internal KPIs.
  • Report to insurer client throughout the lifetime of the claim.
  • Liaise with all appropriate involvements on the case to carry out agreed investigations to meet the set strategy.
  • Comply with all procedural and investigative deadlines.
  • Undertake advocacy where required and cost‑effective to do so.
  • Deal pro‑actively and achieve the best results from receipt until resolution.
  • Delegate tasks as appropriate to assistants to move the case forward.
  • Maintain case management systems from opening to closure.
  • Adhere to file management policies.
  • Comply with the SRA Standards & Regulations.
  • Be commercially aware, working efficiently and effectively to retain profitability.
  • Achieve financial targets.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing.

Working Hours

35 hours per week – Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. Primary location:
Bolton, Parklands Office. Attendance at our offices at least 1 day a week.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Experience in civil litigation claims handling / as a legal File Handler or suitably qualified.
  • Experience handling linked and organised fraud desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of handling RTA pre‑litigated and / or litigated case load.
  • Understanding of insurance litigation practice and processes together with indemnity principles.
  • Knowledge of the litigation process / working knowledge of the CPR.
  • Good advocacy skills.
  • Good client care skills and evidence of working to client guidelines.
  • High level of analytical skills.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise work, keep to deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and identify solutions.
  • Experience of time recording and billing systems.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Desirable:
    Qualified solicitor / CILEX with necessary practice rights.
