Job Description & How to Apply Below

Bolton Hospice provides free, expert care to local people facing terminal and life-limiting illnesses, and their families, in the hospice itself and in patients own homes.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an efficient and effective administrator with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to support the work of our Human Resources team.

The successful candidate will make a real difference to our staff and patients by providing a comprehensive administrative support to the HR function. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, supporting recruitment and onboarding processes, and manage sensitive information with care and confidentiality. You’ll also need to balance multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Salary £24,463 - £26,092 per annum Closing date for applications:
Wednesday 26th November 2025 Interviews will be held on Tuesday 9th December 2025

The Role:

As HR Administrator, you will provide full administrative support to the HR team to ensure an efficient service is provided to all departments.

You’ll assist with recruitment, onboarding and employment changes, as well as responding to internal and external queries and maintaining digital personnel files.

You’ll also support line managers in HR processes, including occasional note taking at formal meetings, and there’ll be an opportunity to support the Head of HR and HR Officer on various HR projects.

What you need:

You’ll need to have some previous administrative experience, although this does not necessarily have to be within an HR team. You’ll need excellent communication and numeracy skills and will be highly organised, and able to manage time and prioritise your workload effectively.

You’ll also need well-developed interpersonal skills, be confident in communicating with colleagues at all levels, and have strong IT skills. Experience of updating and maintaining an HR database would be an advantage.

In this role you’ll have access to sensitive and confidential information so you’ll need to be highly trustworthy and discreet. You’ll also be a team player, adaptable and able to work under pressure and to hard deadlines.

Finally, we will want to see that you have a commitment to the vision and values of Bolton Hospice.

For an informal discussion about the role and working for Bolton Hospice, please email a request to recruitment and a member of the team will be in touch.
