About this jobA fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Radiology department at Royal Bolton Hospital. The department is looking for a forward‐thinking and enthusiastic Lead Mammographer to work across Radiology's breast imaging services.
Bolton NHS Foundation Trust provides services across the north‑west side of the Greater Manchester area, ranging from hospital services in Bolton to community services in Bolton, Salford, Ashton, Leigh and Wigan.
The post holder will help support, monitor and deliver performance across both symptomatic and breast screening services at multiple sites, working closely with our Breast Screening Programme Manager, Consultant Clinical Lead for Mammography, and experienced departmental teams to provide management and leadership of the breast imaging team.
Reporting to the Operational Business Manager in Radiology, the Lead Mammographer will be an integral member of the management team, working alongside clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to provide the best possible experience to our patients while meeting performance standards and targets.
Proven ability to engage clinical and non‑clinical teams is essential, as is the ability to deliver high performing services within budget, in a cycle of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Support, monitor and deliver performance across symptomatic and breast screening services at multiple sites.
- Collaborate with the Breast Screening Programme Manager, Consultant Clinical Lead for Mammography and departmental teams to manage and lead the breast imaging team.
- Report to the Operational Business Manager in Radiology and contribute to the management team.
- Work with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to provide the best patient experience while meeting performance targets.
- Engage teams to deliver high performing services within budget and continuous improvement.
- Registered mammographer and/or advanced practitioner in mammography.
- Operational and strategic management experience in a radiology or imaging department.
- Strong motivation and passion for delivering imaging services across screening and symptomatic pathways.
- Demonstrated ability to engage both clinical and non‑clinical teams.
- Proven track record of managing performance and delivering services within budget.
