We are looking for a Finance Controller to join a leading UK-based retail organisation with a strong international presence across digital and consumer channels. This is a fast-paced, growth-focused business operating in a competitive online marketplace, offering an exciting opportunity to take ownership of financial control, reporting, and governance within a dynamic commercial environment.
Following recent business changes, the company is strengthening its finance function to support continued growth. This role will play a key part in ensuring robust financial processes, accurate reporting, and effective financial oversight, while supporting senior stakeholders with reliable insight and analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day financial control of the business, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Manage month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, journals, and statutory reporting.
- Maintain and improve financial controls, policies, and procedures to support governance and compliance.
- Produce management accounts, financial statements, and performance analysis for senior stakeholders.
- Monitor cashflow, working capital, and balance sheet performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes in collaboration with wider teams.
- Enhance financial systems, reporting processes, and data quality to support scalable growth.
- Proven experience in a Finance Controller, or similar senior finance role.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience of financial controls and reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and present clear insights.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems and reporting tools.
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multiple priorities.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, commercially focused environment.
