This role will oversee a small transactional team and a part qualified accountant, in a hands‑on manner, as part of a progressive and fast‑moving business on a fixed‑term basis, initially until 19 December 2025. Day‑to‑day focus will be on cash & cash flows, month‑end duties, team leadership/management, financial controls, and future risk mitigation, in addition to being instrumental in the continuous improvement journey of the business and the finance function.
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will support the function in providing our majority investor with timely, incisive, high quality financial information, as well as ensuring high quality integrated internal controls, systems and processes, and well‑controlled cash and finances.
Internal systems improvements and reporting enhancements will also be key requirements of the role, together with tight controls and processes around cash management and reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Leading the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Managing KPIs, cash flows, budgeting and forecasting
- Being instrumental in managing cash and working capital
- Overseeing a team ensuring work is completed correctly and to deadlines, and that the team drives improvements in processing efficiency which ultimately benefits working capital.
- Year‑end procedures including liaising with auditors and preparation of statutory accounts for a small group of 4 entities.
- Ad hoc reporting across various aspects of finance, presenting to the FD.
- Controlling all elements of site finance including looking after key control accounts, stock controls and margin reporting / analysis
- Liaising and working with key stakeholders including suppliers, customers and other departments / the board
- Overseeing month‑end payroll process
- Previous experience within the manufacturing industry is essential.
- Experience of successfully managing a small team would be advantageous.
- Experience of, or demonstrable aptitude for, implementing financial controls, KPIs and risk mitigation also preferable.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Pro‑active with a drive to improve systems, processes and output to benefit business.
- Excellent communication skills with a forward‑thinking, pro‑active attitude.
