R&D Engineer (Construction/Roofing Systems) Royston £35,000 - £45,000  Training  Progression  Private Health Insurance  Flexible Working  Free Lunches Are you an R&D Engineer with a background in AutoCAD or similar, looking for a hands-on role where you will receive full training, clear progression, and real influence over products from day one? Join a specialist engineering company investing heavily in innovation and R&D.

You'll help shape bespoke roofing systems, working closely with Tier 1 contractors and architects on technically challenging projects. In this role you will work on R&D projects from concept through to manufacture, working across CAD, prototyping, and testing. Based primarily in the Royston office, you'll collaborate closely with the R&D Manager and wider business to deliver robust, evidence-led product development.

This role is ideal for an R&D Engineer with a background in AutoCAD who wants hands-on ownership of projects from ideation to delivery.

THE ROLE:

Lead and contribute to early-stage concept development and feasibility assessments Design bespoke construction solutions using 2D and 3D CAD (AutoCAD / Inventor) Develop performance criteria, technical specifications, and specification summary reports Produce and manage prototype components, fabrication, and assembly Conduct internal testing for functionality, structural performance, and weathering integrity Coordinate external testing and ensure compliance with industry standards THE PERSON: R& DEngineer with a background in AutoCAD or similar Commutable to Royston Reference: BBBH
