Teacher for Children and Young People with Visual Impairment
Salary Range: MPS/UPS and SEN points dependant on qualifications. Permanent Part time 2 or 3 days (can be discussed at interview). Starting September 2026.
The Sensory Support Service has a vacancy for a part time Teacher for children and Young People with Visual Impairment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher to join our team of specialist teachers. The successful candidate will work as part of the Sensory Support Service based at Thomasson Memorial School, with other advisory teachers with specialisms in visual and hearing impairments.
You will be part of a peripatetic team that will support children who have visual impairment. The work will cover all ages and abilities across different sites.
You will be a qualified teacher holding the mandatory qualification (MQ) for Qualified Teachers of Children and Young People with Vision Impairment (QTVI). Applications are also welcome from teachers who are willing to undertake the required QTVI training. The successful candidate will need to drive as you will be travelling to various settings.
