Overview

A welcoming Primary School in Little Lever, Bolton is seeking a compassionate and proactive Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs to reach their full potential.

The Opportunity

You will play a key role in supporting children with a range of special educational needs within the classroom setting. This may include working 1:1 with a specific pupil or supporting small groups, helping to adapt learning so that all children can access the curriculum confidently.

This role would suit someone patient, nurturing and confident in supporting pupils with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with identified additional needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
  • Implement individual support plans and monitor pupil progress
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Encourage independence, confidence and social interaction
  • Liaise effectively with teaching staff and SENCO

  • Has experience working with children with SEN in a school setting
  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is calm, consistent and resilient
  • Can adapt quickly to different learning needs
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
