Are you an exceptional classroom practitioner ready to influence whole‑school practice? Do you have the expertise, credibility and drive to raise standards and inspire colleagues?

The Orchards Federation is seeking an outstanding Lead Practitioner (Teaching and Learning) to join our Leadership Team at Cherry Tree Primary School. This is a pivotal leadership role for someone passionate about excellence in pedagogy, curriculum innovation and professional development.

About the Role

As Lead Practitioner, you will:

  • Model outstanding teaching and learning across the school
  • Coach and mentor colleagues to secure consistently high standards
  • Play a central role in self‑evaluation and school improvement
  • Contribute to curriculum and assessment development

With a 0.7 teaching commitment, you will remain rooted in classroom excellence while driving strategic improvement.

Qualifications
  • Has at least five years’ successful mainstream primary teaching experience
  • Demonstrates outstanding classroom practice across primary key stages
  • Has excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment processes
  • Understands effective pedagogy and evidence‑informed teaching approaches
  • Can lead high quality CPD and support staff to embed agreed strategies
  • Demonstrates strong leadership with integrity and empathy
