The Governors at Heathfield Primary School would like to appoint an experienced and highly motivated teaching assistant/ SEND Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the Heathfield family. We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of working in the primary phase and in a range of Special Educational Needs and who will demonstrate their passion for our mission statement Learning Together, Learning for Life.,

• Experience of promoting effective communication and language
• Experience of delivering phonics
• Experience of working with children with an ASD diagnosis
• Experience of working with a child(ren) with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
• Comfortable providing intimate care
• Have experience of delivering a highly adapted, bespoke learning curriculum delivered in small chunks using multi-sensory methods.
• Have experience in supporting children to record their learning in a variety of ways
• Have experience of working in an environment that can offer a self-care skills curriculum to develop personal and independence skills, including toileting, dressing, feeding and exploring different foods
• Experience of delivering speech, language and communication and/or willing to undergo training
• Have experience of supporting to develop expressive language skills through the use of modelling, repetition, simple phrasing, visual supports
• Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual pupil needs
• Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
• Demonstrate commitment to quality learning
• Have experience working and/or qualifications within the area of SEND
• Work well with other staff and agencies

• TA2 31 hours + SEN allowance, Term Time+5
• Grade D £25,989 to £28,142 plus pro rata SEN allowance
• Actual Salary £18,645 to £20,190 plus pro rata SEN allowance
• Permanent Position (in line with the child’s EHCP)
• Monday Wednesday 8:40am 3:20pm Thursday 8:40am 3:15pm Friday 8:20am 3:15pm
