We are seeking someone who is passionate about helping young people to learn and achieve, and who can help them be ready to take their next steps. We need someone who is compassionate in their approach, and who can work with young people who may have varied and sometimes complex needs. We want someone who is flexible and can be part of a small, local team who come together in all circumstances to put our students first.
Whatwill I be doing as a teacher at Nacro?
As a key member of the team, your main focus will always be supporting students to access learning in the classroom, assisting and enabling them to improve and experience progress and achievement. With your detailed understanding of individual student needs, you will work with teachers and others to implement adaptations that students need to participate and flourish. You may also provide advice to colleagues about how to best intervene or work with individuals.
You will also play an important role within the centre community, supporting students pastorally to gain confidence and independence.
- Facilitating and supporting students in lessons, meeting their defined needs using a range of strategies and resources
- Supporting the student experience by helping them to build confidence and independence
- Contributing to the planning needed to meet student needs, including their daily routines
- Working with your colleagues to influence planning and resources for lessons, improving accessibility and ensuring students can participate fully
- Influencing and supporting work to intervene and support students so they can make progress on their course
- You may occasionally be asked to cover lessons, working through content provided by teachers in their absence
- English and maths: level 2 or above
- All candidates will require an enhanced DBS check
- Previous experience in learning support is desirable but not essential;
Nacro is proud to support those new to learning support work
