Position: Consultant Psychiatrist CMHT | Greater Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

Overview

Bolton Community mental health teams (CMHTs) provide multi‑disciplinary assessment, treatment and care of individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems. They serve residents of Bolton, aged 16 to 70 years, with a diagnosed functional mental health problem.

Sectorised Service

The South Sector post covers a population served by GP practices based at Stone Hill, Level Chamber 1, Pikes Lane, Orient House, Deane Clinic, Wyresdale, St Helen’s Road, Peter House and Stable Fold Surgery. The sectors are reviewed to reflect population changes, deprivation, referral patterns and throughput to ensure equitability among the four General Adult Community Consultants.

Population

The under‑16 population is 60,000 and the over‑65 population 40,000. The nominal catchment population therefore for each of the six General Adult Psychiatrists is just under 30,000.

Recruitment

The post holder will be based at Barnett House, Community Mental Health Team on Weston Street, Bolton, where the other General Adult Community Psychiatrists are also based. He or she will be given an unshared office with a PC and full‑time secretarial support and will be supported by a full‑time Core Trainee.
