General Operative, Construction

We have an excellent opportunity for a General Operative to join our Engineering Services team in the North West.

The main purpose of the role is to support the operational team with specific on and off site duties.

Hours of work will be 45 per week, to be worked 6.30am to 4.00pm - Monday to Friday.

• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the company safety policy and procedures and in accordance with the current legislations, regulations and basic environmental standards
• Proactively support the operational teams in their day-to-day activities, from a resource, quality and cost perspective promoting “Right First Time” culture
• Display best practice and continuous improvements attributes
• Providing general support to trades operatives and subcontractors to enable them to provide an efficient service
• Timely distribution of materials when requested, to their designated area
• Assist management in security, induction, sign-in process on site
• Ensure Engineering Stores is maintained safely and securely and manage distribution of materials accordingly

• Emergency First aid certificate
• CSCS, Manual Handling, Face Fit Mask, Asbestos Awareness, Fire Marshall (All to be attained within 6 months of commencing the role)
• Ability to communicate with site operatives and site visitors in an appropriate manner
• Have a working knowledge of the site-specific health and safety requirements
• General construction knowledge
• Ability to forward plan and foresee potential problems together with solutions
• Team player with the desire to be helpful, innovative and go the extra mile when needed
• A strong focus on safety, quality, time and cost
• Full Driving Licence
