The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the wider medical secretary team in typing clinical correspondence in line with the Trust target of 5 working days.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will support the Senior Medical Secretaries to provide an efficient secretarial service to the Endocrinology and Diabetes team.
Core/Key areas will include:
- To provide typing and administrative support for the teams on a pooled basis according to need.
- General office duties including e‑mail and computer systems, word processing.
- To assist the Operational Support Manager to facilitate the smooth running of the service.

Person Specification Qualifications- English language GCSE grade 4 or C or above
- Maths GCSE grade C or 4 or above
- Medical Secretary AMSPAR qualification or equivalent
- Experience of working in a busy office with conflicting demands
- Experience in a health care setting
- Proven typing experience
- Experience in a similar role
- Good telephone manner
- Excellent communication and good interpersonal skills
- Confident in computer packages such as Word
- Shows good organisational skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Ability to provide flexible committed support with the ability to adapt to developing service needs with a flexible approach to working as service needs dictate.
